Code -
Erm - I don't really know much about coding, but I will try
to explain it as best I can.
Firstly - All different MU*'s have code behind them. It tells
the MU what to do - and how to do it. Throughout the ages,
the code has become substantially more efficient and easier
to use. The most popular sources that are used now are SMAUG,
CIRCLE, ROM and a few others in MUD's. Also, MUSH code is
used for a variety of different MUSH's, such as PennMUSH and
MUSH itself.
To code something - firstly you need to be fairly smart,
and able to deal with people complaining. I know several people
who were coders of MUD's, and quit because the mortals wanted
to much. Next, you need a compiler and a general knowledge
of Basic, or C. There are a few free compilers around - such
as Cygwin.
